52nd Westchester International Exhibition 2025 Color Camera Club of Westchester

Contest Rules and Guidelines

DIVISIONS: The contest divisions are Open, Nature, and Monochrome.

Open

  • This division can include images in any style except monochrome, on any subject.

Nature

  • Nature photography records aspects of the physical world, both animate and inanimate, that have not been made or modified by humans.
  • Objects created by humans, and evidence of human activity, are allowed in Nature images if they are not prominent (e.g., a distant fence would be allowed, but a fence used as a leading line would not be).
  • Images taken with subjects under controlled conditions, such as zoos, are allowed, but man-made elements should not be prominent.
  • Processing or editing in this division must be limited to making the image look as close to the original scene as possible, except that conversion to grayscale monochrome is allowed.
Monochrome
  • Monochrome images may be greyscale or toned in a single color (e.g., sepia). Partial toning, multiple toning, and selective color are not acceptable.

The Entry Fee is USD $15.00 for each division, with a maximum of four images per division. All payments must be made online, via PayPal. Cash or checks are not accepted. UNPAID ENTRIES WILL NOT BE JUDGED.

A slideshow of award winners and honorable mentions will be available on YouTube. The link to this slideshow will be sent to every entrant.

An online exhibit of the 16 highest-scoring images in each category, using the Kunstmatrix platform, will be viewable from May – September 2025

The same images will be posted to the Club’s Facebook page.

REQUIREMENTS:

Image creation and ownership

In all divisions of the exhibition, images must originate as photographs made by the entrant. They may not incorporate identifiable images produced by anyone else (i.e., replacement skies or stock images).  Images created in whole or in part by AI are not allowed.

Copyright and Usage:  By entering this photo contest, you affirm that you are the sole owner of the copyright to each submitted photograph and that all images are original works created by you. You grant the Color Camera Club of Westchester a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use winning and selected entries for promotional purposes, including online and print publications, with proper attribution to the photographer, while you retain full copyright ownership of your images.

Entry: An entrant can submit from 1 to 4 images in each division (the $15 fee applies to the division, regardless of the number of entries within the division). Entrants may not enter identical or similar* images into the same division or different divisions.

*Similar is defined as almost identical in subject, composition, elements, lighting, or technique, so that a reasonable person viewing the entries together would decide the entrant has duplicated the previous image except for minor changes.

Members of the competition organizing committee and judging panel are not eligible to participate.

Titles:  Each image must have a unique title, 35 characters or fewer, that relates to the content of the image. Titles such as “untitled” or “no title” are not acceptable. Titles will not be visible to the judges, and nothing in the image may identify the entrant.

PROTECTION OF ENTRANTS' PERSONAL INFORMATION:
By entering this exhibition, you are explicitly consenting to the personal details you have supplied, including physical and email addresses, to used by the exhibition organizers only for purposes associated with this exhibition. Your information will not be shared.

JUDGING METHOD:

  • This exhibition will be judged by three professional judges, not associated with the Color Camera Club of Westchester, with extensive judging experience.
  • Judging will be virtual.
  • Judges will be required to use color-calibrated monitors.
  • Computer monitors are required to be capable of displaying images at 100% of the image resolution.
  • Images will be displayed at exactly 100% of their resolution (that is, that the images will not be enlarged beyond their native resolution).
  • Judges will not be able to view all the entrant’s images together. An entrant’s images will be distributed randomly during judging in that division.

HOW TO SUBMIT DIGITAL ENTRIES:

  • All entries must be submitted via the online entry form using the link below.
  • Submitted Digital images must be in JPG format. Using the sRGB color gamut is recommended.
  • A maximum image height (vertical) of 768 pixels* and a maximum image width (horizontal) of 1024 pixels will be used for the judging.
  • * When the vertical height is set at 768 pixels, the width will default to the correct size to maintain aspect ratio. Images this size will project with no compromise of resolution.
  • Digital images will not be altered or resized by the exhibition before judging.
  • Oversized images will be rejected.
  • Watermarks or signatures are not allowed.

TO ENTER THE EXHIBITION:

Please read all details above before submitting your entry. Then, SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY.
