Are you ready to take your nature photography to the next level? Using bird photography as an example, we’ll talk about what makes a basic, good quality, bird photograph and then how to elevate your bird or other nature images to the next level. We will touch on both technical and compositional techniques, as well as expanding our awareness of outside factors such as light, behavior, pose, weather, and environment that can elevate an image to something “more.”

I do not plan to delve into the subjective and semantic rabbit hole of what is “art” and what is not, but instead talk about how to create images with increased creativity and impact. Images that move beyond a more documentary or “field guide” shot. Whether you shoot birds, or other nature subjects, or even people, the ideas and techniques we will explore in this talk can apply to your particular type of photography.
